The Honeywell HC900 Controller is an advanced process and logic controller offering a modular, scalable design that is sized to meet the automation needs of a wide range of process equipment. A selection of  controller CPU modules, multiple I/O rack sizes and multiple local or remote I/O process racks per system provides a flexible architecture that can accommodate the most demanding application.

Product Description

The Honeywell HC900 Process Controller is an advanced process and logic controller.  HC900 is a unique “Hybrid Controller” which offers the flexibility of a small DCS system at the low cost of a PLC. Unlike a traditional PLC system, the HC900 is perfectly suited to continuous process.  Analogue IO programming is significantly simpler and, critically, minor process amendments (addition of IO etc) can be updated without stopping the process. With a simple function block building structure, the Honeywell HC900 is programmable by any systems integrator.  This user friendly interface also simplifies fault finding and system tweaks for the less experienced user.

 

Honeywell HC900 offers a modular, scalable design that is sized to meet the automation needs of a wide range of process equipment.  The HC900 is extremely well suited to many continuous control applications.  Commonly used in burner and boiler control type applications, a vast array of standard templates already exist.

The Honeywell HC900 Process Control System can be twinned with the 900 Control station.  This is a touch screen HMI, providing user-friendly displays. Many pre-built display templates exist or can be customised as necessary.  Along with trending and data archiving a host of configurations exist for standard process variable information and system diagnostics. A selection of controller CPU modules, multiple I/O rack sizes and multiple local or remote I/O process racks per system provides the Honeywell HC900 Process Control System with a very flexible architecture. The Honeywell HC900 Process Control System is configurable from a menu of more than 125 different types of software function blocks, each representing a unique algorithm for a specific control function.

To offer a quick response and local supply, Honeywell HC900 hardware and software is offered in the UK through Fluidic.  This is part of the “Channel Partner” program employed by Honeywell globally. In keeping with this commitment to customer service, Honeywell HC900 process control system includes free software upgrades; free licence of Matrikon OPC, no annual software fees and free product support. 

 

Honeywell HC900 Process Control Systems Features…

  • Program changes uploaded in “Hot Start” mode without interrupting the process.
  • Available as a basic process control system (blue) or the new SIL2 (orange) system allows both safety system design and process control.
  • Redundant architecture available on network side (C70 controller) or network side and CPU/PSU side (C75 controller)
  • HC900 control loops provide tight, accurate  process control to increase throughput, reduce scrap, and minimize energy costs.
  • Integrated logic capability can execute all logic functions approximately every 27 milliseconds.
  • Sequencers control the output states of multiple digital parameters to control the sequence of process operation based on time or process events.
  • Setpoint programmers automatically manipulate a setpoint value for use by PID loops to create a time/value profile for process batch control.
  • Remote I/O capabilities maximise installation flexibility and reduce wiring and installation costs, with up to four remote I/O racks able to connect to a single controller.
  • Remote Terminal Panels (RTP’s) connect to  HC900 I/O modules using pre-wired cables to simplify wiring configurations and costs.
  • HC900 Designer software enables system configuration with a Windows XP, Vista or 7 based PC.

 

Communications Options…

  • Open Ethernet connectivity enables HC900 controllers to communicate with their host interfaces and each other.
  • Serial Modbus connectivity using selectable Modbus RTU capability, allows RS232 and/or RS485 ports to be configured as Modbus slaves, while one of the ports is selected as a Modbus master.
  • Peer-to-peer communications allows any HC900 to interface with up to 32 other units for process equipment applications that require sharing data between controllers.
  • Wireless connectivity, using dedicated communication function blocks in the HC900 Controller, simplifies setup and operation of the controller with Honeywell wireless transmitters, via an RS485 network to multiple base stations.

  • Custom graphics tools let you select from 4,000+ pre-built objects for animation support, math, formulas and scripting.
  • Multiple interfaces on each controller enable process management from up to three locations.
  • Trending and data logging is provided via non-volatile flash card storage, with USB memory support and no artificial limits.
